Wak Chanil Ajaw

Lady Wac-Chanil-Ahau was a Maya princess c. 682 AD who was part of an arranged marriage between the Maya cities of Caracol (in modern Belize) and Naranjo (in modern Guatemala) to re-establish the royal dynasty after Caracol defeated Naranjo in a power struggle.

She was important to politics during the Mesoamerican Classic Period (250 AD - 900 AD). Her son Smoking Squirrel was an important figure in later Maya development.
